Barbara Kruger

Barbara Kruger (b. 1945, Newark, USA) is an artist who works with pictures and words. She lives and works in Los Angeles and New York. Frequently borrowing from the language of advertising and graphic design, her practice often explores the complex mechanisms of power, gender, class, and capital.

Atelier JI produced the ‘Untitled (Mirror)’ and ‘Untitled (2KISS)’ limited editions on the occasion of Kruger’s first solo institutional exhibition in London in over 20 years, ‘Barbara Kruger: Thinking of You. I Mean Me. I Mean You.’ at Serpentine South Gallery in 2024.
