Gicleé Printing

There are a number of factors that put giclée printing a step above standard inkjet printing.

Our Epson printers have a high DPI (dot per square inch) resolution and a much richer colour range, which ensure that your artworks are translated perfectly from screen to paper without losing their fine details or compromising on colour accuracy.

Files should be 300dpi and ideally the same size as your printing dimensions. Our Standard and Bespoke services include image resizing, in which case providing us with a larger image size than you intend to print at is always preferable to providing an image that is too small.

Our printers are calibrated to print from Adobe RGB colour profiles. You might be familiar with working in a CMYK colour space, but by keeping your file in an RGB colour space, we can ensure that your print will be much more accurate to how the artwork appears on-screen.

We recommend that clients supply us with either .TIFF, .PSD, .PDF, or .AI files. We are able to print from high-resolution .JPG files, though resizing may pose issues to the print quality.

Our in-house digital print specialists check each file thoroughly and will liaise with you should there be issues with the file provided.

There is no minimum order quantity on prints of A2 and larger, though for smaller prints (of around A4 or A3 size), there is a minimum charge of at least £40.

We offer full-sized proofs as well as test strips, so customers are welcome to choose the option that best fits their needs. A full-sized proof will be charged at a one-off price, and a test strip (40 x 15 cm) costs £5 per strip.

Our Standard and Bespoke Proofing service include 1 or 2 test strips respectively as well as full print proofs, though all customers are welcome to add test strips to their orders.

You will receive photos and videos of your proofs via email, though you are welcome to come into our London studio to pick it up, or we can post it to your address via Royal Mail at an extra charge.

Our proofing services allow you to work with our digital print specialists to achieve the exact result you’re looking for in your digital prints.

Both services include full consultations for artworking (such as resizing, colour correction or adding borders) are available from our specialists.

Our Bespoke service comes with the added benefit of two extra proofing rounds, which gives you further opportunities to request changes to the image or try out a different paper stock and the expert advice of our Master Printer.

All editions are costed at our Run-On prices, which are as low as £10/print at an A4 size.

We also offer three tiers of gicleé proofing services, from Self-Service to Bespoke. This is separate to the rest of your edition and comes with our expertise to ensure your printed results are perfect before proceeding to editioning.

For example:

You are looking to order a limited edition of 12 A3 prints + 2 APs, and need to one test strip to see how your original fidle looks printed, another test strip to see it on a different paper stock, followed by a full printed proof, the costs would be:

• A3 Standard Proofing = £60

• Extra test strip x1 = £5

• A3 Run-on (12 + 2) = £280

Total incl. VAT = £414 (£34.5 per print)

Yes! We frequently apply a layer of custom-mixed silkscreen varnish over the top of gicleé prints to achieve a richer depth of colour or a glossier finish without compromising on the beautiful finishes of our matt paper stocks.
