Lukas Duwenhögger is a German painter, born in Munich, 1956. Duwenhögger studied at the art academy in Munich and Dusseldorf and now lives and works in Istanbul, Turkey. Duwenhögger's work is characterised by a reiteration of encounters between different men that embrace a moment of personal, social and sexual recognition. Posing and exchanging glances, Duwenhögger’s characters casually embrace brief instants of physical contact and implicit sexual tension.

Atelier JI was proud to produce Duwenhögger's ‘Rest on Flight’, published to coincide with his 2014-15 exhibition, ‘Made In Hot Weather’, at Rodeo Gallery, London.
