A set of four unframed posthumous Warhol hand-pulled silkscreens by Paul Stephenson

It is with great pleasure that we are able to anounce our recent collaboration with fine artist Paul Stephenson. These beautiful new editions, ‘posthumous Warhol’s’, are now avaliable at Castle Fine Art.

Andy Warhol's original Cow series from 1966 was, at first, controversial due to his previous focus on celebrity portraits. But the bovine prints, which were produced throughout the decade, went on to become one of the Pop artist's most iconic body of works and now reside in prestigious private collections and museums around the world”.

“These posthumous Warhol silkscreens are made by Paul Stephenson from Warhol's original acetate, which he made in the 1960s. After going to New York and studying under the guidance of original Warhol printer Alexandr Heinrichi, Paul's After Warhol series successfully incorporates all his original techniques and materials. What's more, one of Warhol's main concepts (creating art that was as iconic and reproducible as possible) means that Paul's artwork is practically indistinguishable from those made by Warhol during his lifetime; as noted by preeminent Warhol scholar Rainer Crone”.
