Idris Khan - ‘I Thought We Had More Time…’ Ukraine Appeal

Atelier JI is honoured to produce the “I Thought We Had More Time…” timed edition print for Idris Khan, who teamed up with Migrate Art and the Evening Standard to raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee.

In the ten-day sale period, the print raised over £200,000 to aid those impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“My first thought was about not having any time. One day everything’s okay, and then suddenly you’ve got two hours to leave everything behind and get out of your house or flat, wherever you are, and make a decision about what you take. I’ve got two kids as well, and that vision of just grabbing them and having to flee and leave everything behind while you watch your home be destroyed — that was a complete shock. Your emotions are: what can you do? How can you help?”

— Idris Khan, Evening Standard interview

Printed on Somerset and Kozo paper, the collaged archival pigment prints were available for ten days from the 21st March 2022. 100% of the profits were sent to Disasters Emergency Committee.
