Phil Hale - ‘ENEMY’

Over the past month, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Phil Hale and First Thursday to produce ‘ENEMY’, a limited edition archival pigment print.

The limited edition features ‘Enemy I’ from Hale’s 2017 exhibition ‘Enemy’ with painter Jim Threapleton at No 20 Arts, London.

It’s one of my favourites from the series – this one, as the cliche goes, painted itself.

The edition of 100, released by First Thursday, was printed at Atelier JI on Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl stock and has a beautiful reflective quality, capturing the depth of the original oil painting.

“This painting was part of a set done in 2017 for the ENEMY show in London. And (as in most of my shows) all of the individual paintings have the same name as the show itself, as they fundamentally form a full composite project, not a series of individual pieces. So this piece is... Enemy. It’s one of my favourites from the series – this one, as the cliche goes, painted itself.”
