‘Against The Tide: Myanmar Art in the Moment’ at Coningsby Gallery
Aung Myint’s ‘Mother and Child’ I - III has made its London debut at ‘Against The Tide: Myanmar Art in the Moment’, presented by Karin Weber Gallery at Coningsby Gallery.
‘Against The Tide: Myanmar Art in the Moment’ is Karin Weber Gallery’s debut show in London, featuring nine of Myanmar’s leading modern and contemporary artists. The exhibition coincides with ‘Burma to Myanmar’ at The British Museum, the first major exhibition in the UK to focus on telling the story of the country.

Aung Myint’s ‘Mother & Child’ series is available to buy as a set or individually.
Proceeds from the sale will go towards Connecting Myanmar’s Scholarship Scheme, which funds the university studies of ambitious Burmese students. Read more about the project here →

Amongst the featured artworks is Atelier JI’s production of Aung Myint’s ‘Mother and Child’ I - III. The series was silkscreen printed on handmade Shan paper sourced in Myanmar by Myint and brought to London by Connecting Myanmar. The collaboration is a part of Connecting Myanmar and Myint’s ongoing efforts to raise funds for the education of children and young people in Myanmar, which has just entered the third year of it’s violent military coup.
